LabLink was established in 1989 and was located in Bangunan UMNO Selangor, Jalan Ipoh.

KPJ acquired majority stake in Lablink (M) Sdn Bhd in 1991.

With mind for expansion and transfer of knowledge, Lablink went into partnership with ChemproControl of Germany in 1994. Among ChemproControl’s contribution was the technology related to Laboratory Information System, training in various fields of laboratory medical sciences and automation of bacteriology identification and sensitivity pattern.

In 1997, LabLink moved to its present location at Bangunan PharmaCare where a laboratory of modern design was built.

In order to consolidate Laboratory Services, LabLink was given the task of managing all KPJ hospital laboratories. The first hospital laboratory that LabLink took over was in Ampang Puteri Specialist Hospital in Jaunary 1999. This was followed by Pusat Pakar Tawakal and Damansara in Nov.1999. Now LabLink is also managing the laboratories in Ipoh Specialist Hospital, Perdana Specialist Hospital, Kuching Specialist Hospital and Nilai Cancer Institute.

LabLink has got ISO 9001:2000 certification as of 2003. Previously, it had DIN EN 9002 certification (1999 till 2002).

Apart from medical laboratory testing, LabLink has also ventured into writing and marketing its own Laboratory Information System, WinLIS. The WinLIS is now installed at 10 sites throughout Malaysia. It has proven to be a stable and user friendly system
